The French Connection operates on a philosophy that the world of the child should be one full of opportunities to create and explore in the broadest sense possible, within the restraints of safety. We provide for this in a warm, loving, and secure environment. Our program takes into consideration the varying ages and abilities of the children attending the program, and provides alternates wherever possible. A variety of stimulating indoor and outdoor activities is provided.
The Centre is concerned with all aspects of a child’s development – social, emotional, physical, and cognitive. The aim is to help develop and extend the child’s self esteem, independence, and self-motivation, and to foster positive attitudes to what is socially acceptable to learning and to life.
Each child is given many opportunities to make choices and is permitted, as far as possible, to set his or her own limits, thereby encouraging that child to question such choices and decisions and to approach problem solving with confidence.
Group participation and play is an important part of the program for encouraging the child’s self-confidence and to develop mutual respect and a sense of sharing and caring. For the child as an adventurer and explorer, there is ample scope for active play in the outdoor play area.
The French Connection maintains open lines of communication between its staff and child’s childcare teacher.
